Jim Gahres
Jim plays piano/keyboard and harmonica with Idle Time, including a number of his original tunes. He has been performing professionally for over 30 years, solo and with numerous bands in Washington, D.C. and Charlottesville, Virginia. Jim, a business development executive for a local county, is a native Washingtonian and lives with his family in Northern Virginia.

Ken Giese
Ken is The Idle Time Band’s lead songwriter, singer, and guitarist. He has written over 100 original songs, a core of which have become ITB fan favorites.
Ken lives in Alexandria, Virginia and works at the US Patent & Trademark Office.

Bruce Navarro
Bruce Navarro plays drums and adds gravelly-throated lead vocal charm to many of our cover songs. He has performed with numerous Washington, D.C. bands over the last 30 years.
Bruce, an attorney, and his family reside in scenic Bristow, Virginia.

Dale Ray
Dale is an economist with the federal government by day and plays bass and sings back-up vocals by night. Having played in bands since his days in Ann Arbor, MI, with his State Street Blues Band, Dale brings diversity and strength to ITB's sound. He and his family live in Potomac, Maryland.

Brint Hanney
Brint Hanney performs regularly with the Idle Time Band. His soaring pedal steel and guitar leads add a dimension to the music that demonstrates why he is one the Washington, D.C. country music scenes leading players. Brint has performed in the D.C. area for over twenty years and recorded with a number of local groups.

"Fiddlin” Phil Swaby
"Fiddlin” Phil Swaby regularly performs with the Idle Time Band. He plays extensively in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas. Phil’s artistry manifests itself in hot country licks as well as melodic and thoughtful violin that add energy and depth to ITB’s citified country rock.

Danielle Westphal
Danielle's been performing since she was a little girl, but got her real start in musicals in high school. She continued singing in college with The University of Virginia Singers and after college in local theater performances.
Her list of accomplishments includes performing twice at the White House for receptions for President and Mrs. Clinton, performing on the former Presidential Yacht Sequoia, singing in popular clubs in Paris, France, and performing with her jazz trio on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center.
Her first CD, High Standards was released in June of 2002 and has been getting very favorable reviews as well as radio air time, locally and around the world. It contains 17 cover songs performed and produced by Dan Reynolds and musicians from her jazz combos.
Danielle recently co-produced and starred in Divas of DC, a very successful charity benefit concert that took place November 5, 2003. The live show is currently being produced into a concert special by OVATION TV - The Arts Network, for broadcast in 2004 to over 56 million viewers world-wide. More recently, Danielle started writing songs and is currently producing the Maybe CD of her original songs which crossover jazz, country, folk, and rock & roll styles. She performs 3-4 nights per week with her jazz combo.
